- What's going on at Anime Boston 2008?
Anime Boston 2008 is the northeast's largest and most popular Japanese animation convention. Anime Boston holds popular events such as a masquerade, an anime music video contest, video programming rooms, an artists' alley and art show, karaoke, game shows, video games, RPGs, nightly dances, and much more... Our dealers' room is located in Hall D of the Hynes Convention Center. There are also plenty of voice actors, artists, and other industry representatives who are excited about coming to Anime Boston.
- What time does it start and end?
Anime Boston usually runs from the early morning until late at night.
Video programming will run about 20 hours a day starting at 8am. Panel programming generally starts around 10am and runs through the evening. The dance runs from the evening late into the night. On Sunday, things usually settle down around dinner time.
- How can I run a panel?
Information on running panels is available on our Panels pages.
- How do I get space in the Art Show?
When that information is available, it will be posted in the Events section under "Art Show".
- How do I get a table in Artists' Alley?
When that information is available, it will be posted in the Events section under "Artists' Alley".
- How do I sign up for the Masquerade?
You can find this and other information in our Masquerade section.
- What other cosplay events are you planning?
Refer to our Cosplay section.
- Why don't you get more arcade machines for the video game room?
Two reasons:
- We're not "Video Games Boston", we're "Anime Boston". Our primary focus is anime.
- They're really expensive!
- Some of your events are "18+". I'm almost 18. Is that close enough?
No. If an event has an 18+ age requirement, it is strictly enforced. No exceptions. IDs will be checked.
- Why was there time on the schedule with nothing for me to do?
See Question #11...
- Why were these two things I wanted to do scheduled against each other?
The answers to both Question #10 and #11 are actually the same. Different people have different interests and there is no way to plan a convention schedule that doesn't have two programming items of interest conflict for some people...unless we scheduled everything in the same room and ran the convention for a week and a half. Of course, that would result in complaints that there sometimes wasn't stuff to do. We try to strike a happy medium by providing great programming throughout the weekend. We also try to avoid obvious conflicts (like two cosplay panels at the same time...or an AMV panel against the AMV contest.) ...but there's no pleasing everyone.
