Newsletter Reporter

The Public Relations department of Anime Boston is looking for a detail-oriented person to fill the position of NEWSLETTER REPORTER. Ideal candidates should be excited to produce a four-page, grayscale newsletter to cover the previous day's events at the convention.

The Newsletter Reporter will be responsible for providing exciting stories for Con Chowder, the at-con newsletter. Reporters should be willing to accept assignments from the Newsletter Editor-in-Chief, but also be able to generate unique ideas on their own.

The Newsletter Reporter will work closely with the Newsletter Editor-in-Chief to insure a quality product for each day of the convention.

Attention to details and nightly deadlines is required for this position.

An editing test will be given at the time of the interview. Knowledge of AP style and newsroom terms is required. Candidates should be prepared to present a portfolio of previous work at the interview.

Candidates with high standards for publications are encouraged to apply. A degree in Journalism, English or Communications or extensive field experience is preferred.

All staff members are required to assist with breakdown on Sunday unless previously excused. Benefits include a free hotel room to be shared with no more than three other staff members, free food on scheduled days, and free admission to Anime Boston 2008.
