Doujinshi USA II: WEBCOMICS
Hosted by Sarah Martinez
You've got a story; you've got art; you've got time. Where the heck do you find an audience? Breaking into the current publishing world takes the kind of money most of us cannot spare on our 'first attempts.' Webcomics are the cheapest, most reliable way to build up your comicking muscles and your fanbase. Thinking about starting one? Let's talk. Kevin Bolk and I have been running webcomics through http://www.interrobangstudios.com for over 5 years now. We've learned quite a bit the hard way! This workshop will go over what's necessary not only for the comic itself, but for the website, for the planning, for the writing, for the posting, and for the building up of web traffic. I'll dissect some of the popular free hosting sites, touch on etiquette, and lay a strong foundation for making the jump into Artist Alley or even full-on print publishing.
