Scheduled Judging Times
Basic information:
- What is the Hall Costume Contest?
The Hall Costume Contest is a competitive event in which cosplayers sign up have their costumes evaluated by a panel of judges, and prizes are awarded to the best and most creative costumes. This contest is separate, both from the Masquerade and from the Staff-Vote Cosplay Contest. The format and criteria of the judging for the Hall Costume Contest is very similar to the craftsmanship judging for the Masquerade. Winners of the Hall Costume Contest will be announced at the Masquerade on Saturday Night and digital photographs of some or all of the costumes may be projected on the video screens at the Masquerade. Participants in the Hall Costume Contest will have the opportunity to participate in a fashion show held at the Masquerade intermission. (Participation in this will be optional.) Judging for the Hall Costume Contest will take place on Friday March 21st and Saturday March 22nd and will not conflict with any part of Masquerade
- How can I participate in the Hall Costume Contest?
If you want to participate in the Hall Costume Contest then you or your group should pre-register for the contest using the online registration form. (Registration will go online December 15th.) The rules explain the requirements in detail and you should read them before registering. When you pre-register for the contest, you must register for either Friday or Saturday judging and you must attend judging on the day for which you pre-registered. If all spaces on one day fill up and you cannot be judged on the other day, then you will not be able to participate. The staff will do their best to make sure all participants are judged on the day they prefer.
