Karaoke at Anime Boston

Open Mic Karaoke Rules:

1. Please do not sign up for more than one song at a time. You must perform your song before submitting another one. Do not try to get around this rule by using different stage names. Anyone discovered to be violating this rule will have their songs cancelled and may face further action.
2. If you are unsure a song you really want to sing is in our library, bring a copy yourself so you can flaunt your musical prowess for the masses. We will accept multiple types of media within reason.
3. The choice is yours if you want to sing karaoke version of a song or a sing-along with the normal version. A database of available songs will be available at the con. If it is not specified for full version, default is karaoke version. There is also vocal dampening available for songs without karaoke versions. Please specify if you would like vocal dampening turned on.
4. If it is something you really want to sing and you want to make certain you have a lyric sheet, it is always nice to bring your own.
5. Only Japanese songs and anime songs will be allowed to be sung at the karaoke lounge. This is an anime con. There are plenty of karaoke bars out there that will let you sing non-anime music.
6. Please try to keep your energy at a manageable level. There are many pieces of expensive equipment around to give the best karaoke. We will be forced to take appropriate action if things get too unorganized. The whole point is to have fun, so we would prefer not go that route.
7. It takes a lot of courage to get on stage & sing in front of a large crowd. Whether you are performing or not, we expect you to show positive support for those performing. Cheer them on! Applaud them after the performance!
8. Do not harass or boo any performer! This is completely against the fun-loving spirit that we try to bring to the event, and it will not be tolerated.
9. Do not "rush the stage"! It may seem like a funny idea at the time, but it won’t seem so funny when you are being forcefully ejected from the stage area, the event, and (depending on the severity of the act) the con itself.
10. We will cut off sign-ups for open mic prior to the Karaoke Contest, Iron Karaoke Contest, and with a reasonable time before closing. Songs put in before the cutoff will be guaranteed. You may not submit a song after cutoff, please do not try to.
